DIY Kennel Cough Support with Essential Oils
Today I want to share with you some doTERRA Essential Oils that can help if your dog is in need of respiratory support.
Now with that said, it is always important to know what the cause of the cough is. It could be anything from seasonal threats, to a problem that needs medical attention and everything in between. If the problem persists, it is important to talk to your veterinarian for a proper diagnosis.
So back to my essential oil choices. These oils can be combined and diffused, or can be made into a spray to spritz onto your pups bedding or even used topically on their chest and down their spine.
For diffusing, drop count really depends on how much water your diffuser holds. For a smaller diffuser, you can start with one drop each, if you have a large capacity diffuser, you can do multiple drops for each oil.
For a spray, you can use a 2oz spray bottle and add 5 drops of each oil topped off with distilled water or your favorite carrier oil.

I want to add a word of caution, I am all about the education and that means safety first.
If you have a dog that has a pre-existing issue with seizures, I would omit the Eucalyptus.
Studies in humans show that eucalyptus can trigger a response, so to err on the side of caution I would not use it with a dog with the same condition.
